Why Icelandair Is One Of The Best Airlines to Travel With Kids
Icelandair has been making big strides towards becoming the choice of travelers wishing to visit Iceland and Europe. Leaving from the US, Iceland is close to half way between the two continents. With affordable airfare prices, Icelandair is popping up all over flight search engines. They also offer a Stopover program allowing passengers to stay up to 7 days in Iceland prior to taking their connecting flight to Europe or elsewhere. In addition to the Stopover program they offe

My Favorite Winter Essentials
There is something really magical about a snowy winter day. I will admit, I always hated the cold. I still do, but now I know what to wear. Knowing how to dress can make anyone love to be outside in the winter. I just love a good pair of toasty and comfortable base layers. With winter well underway, I thought I might list some of my favorite winter clothing and accessories. Blondo Villa Bootie (Waterproof) I cannot say enough about these boots. Blondo, a Canadian shoe brand,

Rey Apartments in Reykjavik
This past October I travelled to Iceland. I enjoyed everything from the planning to every moment spent exploring the country, the cuisine, and the culture. My biggest task was to find a place to stay that would meet my needs. I had decided that I would be based in Reykjavik and rent a car. Daily I would explore a different part of Iceland, but return to Reykjavik each night. I wanted something in the heart of the city, but also affordable. I stumbled upon the Rey Apartments.

Road Trip Edition: Iceland's Golden Circle
On my recent trip to Iceland, I spent much time researching what was a must do. Everything I could find stated that the Golden Circle was not to be missed. So we went..... We woke up early to a cloudy and drizzly Monday morning in the city of Reykjavik. I gathered everything I might need on a full day road trip through Iceland. (rain coat, sweatshirt, boots, rain boots, extra socks, hat, gloves, a head lamp, hot spot, chargers, cameras, snacks, and a water bottle) Just the da

Where to Buy and Authentic Icelandic Wool Sweater in Reykjavik
On my recent trip to Iceland I was determined to come home with an authentic Icelandic Wool Sweater. As a lover of all things Fair Isle and Scandinavian, my eyes were wide open for the perfect sweater. While out walking around Reykjavik, I looked in a few stores, but quickly realized that it was going to be slightly more challenging than I imagined. I was convinced that the ones in the stores were not authentic wool and were not hand made. So I turned to the internet. I found

Road Trip Edition: The Road to Vik
One of the best days I had in Iceland was on a road trip to Vik. Visiting the black sand beaches of Vik had been at the top of my to do list, and it did not disappoint. Google maps estimated the trip would take 2.25hrs from Reykjavik. I knew the ride would be long, but one thing I learned very quickly in Iceland was that no matter what road I travelled on the landscape was always insanely beautiful. the landscape and the stops made the ride fly by. I made the following stops

Food Favorites: Where to Eat in Reykjavik
Reykjavik is home to some really great restaurants. The following are a few places I stopped in for a bite to eat. There were so many more options to eat at, but these are a few I really enjoyed and recommend. Prkid Great breakfast and one of the oldest cafes in Reykavik! Checkout the second floor and grab a seat by the window. Worth a visit. The Laundramat Cafe This cafe serves a wonderful breakfast, and has a relaxed and casual atmosphere. Núðluskálin Amazing noodle bowls!
