Rey Apartments in Reykjavik

This past October I travelled to Iceland. I enjoyed everything from the planning to every moment spent exploring the country, the cuisine, and the culture. My biggest task was to find a place to stay that would meet my needs. I had decided that I would be based in Reykjavik and rent a car. Daily I would explore a different part of Iceland, but return to Reykjavik each night.
I wanted something in the heart of the city, but also affordable. I stumbled upon the Rey Apartments. It was located parallel to Laugavegur shopping street and two blocks away from the Hallgrimskirkja Church. These are two of Reykjavik's top sites. It received a 9.3 rating on Booking.com and the price was very affordable for a 6 nighstay.
Once I arrived the apartment it could not have been more perfect. The room was clean and very warm considering how cold it was outside. It had a Queen size bed with a futon, kitchen table, kitchen, a private bathroom, and free wifi was available. I had requested a pack and play for my daughter and there was still plenty of room in the studio apartment. The staff was incredibly helpful and knowledgable about the area.
The only downfall was parking. Rey Apartments only holds two spots for guests to park in, but parking on the street is fairly easy and cheap. I often parked up at the church in the free lot, and walked back to the apartment. If it wasn't for only having two spots I imagine they would have a higher rating. Everything was within walking distance in the city and this made the parking situation a bit easier.
If you are visiting Reykjavik make sure to book a night at the Rey Apartments.
